We're obsessed with olive oil. Not the blended stuff that lines supermarket shelves. The real thing. The kind you taste on its own and immediately understand why the Greeks have been making it for over 4,000 years.
The best olive oil in the world comes from Greece. It always has. It's in their soil, their sun, their culture. The gods of mythology feasted on it. Athletes were anointed with it. Families passed olive groves down like heirlooms. In Greece, olive oil was never just a product. It was sacred.
Fat God exists because oil that good shouldn't stay hidden on the other side of the world.
Our oil comes from Koroneiki olives grown in the hills of Sitia, Crete. Small fruit. Bold, peppery flavour. They're cold pressed to lock in everything that makes them special. No heat. No refining. No blending with cheaper oils to make it go further.
From the press in Crete, it's shipped directly to New Zealand. We don't dilute it. We don't process it. We don't touch it. What arrives in the bottle is exactly what came out of the press. Single origin. One olive. One region. Nothing added, nothing taken away.
We started Fat God because once you've tasted oil this good, you can't go back. We pour it on everything. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Straight off a spoon if no one's watching. We'd drink the stuff if it was socially acceptable. Actually, we do.
